Experience Hawaii in a new way ~ 1 mile from amazing Kealakekua Bay, perfectly located getaway for exploring the best of South Kona's beaches and water activities. Soak up the sun and unwind in the abundant outdoor living space which blends seamlessly with the interior of this stunning ground-level retreat. The living space is expansive an open air, allowing you to enjoy the natural world around you. The space is decorated in an exotic, Modern-meets-Indonesian style. IG: @themangofarmlife The space Your Garden View "Ohana" consists of the 1000 sq. foot ground floor of a stunning and unique, 3 story home constructed with 40 foot architectural Cedar poles. This space is private to you and does not include any shared spaces. For guests wanting an experience close to nature, with a predominately outdoor experience, yet with a beautiful and enclosed bedroom, this is a truly special find! => Beautiful enclosed room. The bedroom is a 12 x 12 sun drenched room with full bed and tastefully decorated in whites and cremes with Balinese artwork. It is beautifully simple and comfortable. It has a Haiku Ceiling fan and 2-walls of windows that can be left open for a breeze or closed and covered with linen curtains. (** This room can be locked) => Beautiful, modern and private bathroom with an open-air River Rock Shower => Enclosed kitchenette with all the basics for very simple meal preparation - a single burner induction cooktop, toaster oven, blender, small refrigerator, grill, french press and coffee grinder. => Enjoy the outdoors with a 600 square foot comfortable outdoor living space with couches and best of all, a hammock for the ultimate in tropical relaxation. Please note: this means your living space is outside...It is all covered, but not screened in. If you want a sterile environment, this might not be a feature. => Dine alfresco (note: there is no inside/screened dining space). There is a dining table for 2 => Get an in-house massage at "Tao Within Massage." We offer Esalen, Deep Tissue, Chi Nei Tsang and Lomi Lomi. We also offer wellness packages. => Snorkeling, Kayaking, Paddle boarding, Surfing down the road (1 mile to ocean and Kealakekua Bay for swimming and snorkeling) => Enjoy Delicious tropical fruit (we're a small, growing organic, permaculture farm) and sell whatever is ripe. => Great restaurants, supermarket and farmer's market nearby ABOUT THE FARM The mango farm is a 1.7 Acre family orchard, where you can experience 8 different kinds of mangoes as well as assortment of other tropical fruits like a few varieties of bananas, pineapple, coconut, longan, limes, oranges, papaya, passionfruit, starfruit and suriname cherries. We have a family of friendly cats that love to come visit and a super friendly farm dog, JiJi. Wild chickens roam the farm. You may see a mongoose running around. There are a lot of varieties of birds and there a coqui frogs at night. Even though we are an organic farm, we do have a pest service that comes regularly to spray the perimeter of the home to minimize unwanted pests and to ensure we never have any infestations. Guest access This rental has exclusive, unshared access to the ground-level of the house. Your unit has no shared spaces. Massages (multiple modalities) are available onsite via the "Tao Within Massage." We offer Esalen, Deep Tissue, Chi Nei Tsang and Lomi Lomi. We also offer wellness packages. On the property, there are variety of fruit trees, including 8 varieties of mango (~65 trees), 3 varieties of banana, 2 variety of avocado, coconut, moringa, papaya, tangelo, lemon, lime, tangerine, suriname cherry, ulu (breadfruit), figs, lilikoi (passionfruit), Hawaiian chili pepper, lemongrass, kafir lime, ginger, tumeric. Fresh fruit is available for sale. In the center of the property, next to a grove of banana trees, there is a large compost along with vegetable and herb gardens, all grown organically with permaculture and korean natural farming methods. Other things to note ~ Your bedroom is directly below the upstairs kitchen that is also a vacation rental. There is a white-noise machine in the bedroom as a sound 'buffer" but if you do not want to hear any other humans, this might not be the vacation spot for you. ~ Depending on the day and time of year, the farm can have bugs, mosquitos, geckos, spiders, etc. We guarantee that we never have an infestation of any kind --but we cannot prevent random visitors or control nature completely. Since mid-2022 we routinely spray in attempt to give you a mosquito free experience and we always have a quarterly pest treatment. We also have a free roaming dog on the farm and a couple of cats ~ 1 especially that likes to come and visit. Knowing yourself, is an outdoor experience what you want for your vacation? This is a tropical, mostly outdoor experience. If you want an indoor experience, this is not for you :-) ~ The entire farm respects quiet hours 9am-8am, with no music and only quiet conversations during these hours because no one closes their windows in Hawaii :-) - The Mango Farm is a place for relaxation, restoration and re-charging ~ We are a working, organic mango farm with 65 mango trees and about 15 other types of fruit trees (permaculture, organic, korean natural farming practices), and we have extensive vegetable and herb gardens. We also make essential oils of lemongrass, tulsi, curry leaf, cinnamon, nutmeg, citrus, basil, catnip and many other botanicals. We make plant-based medicine and value-added products like moringa powder, mango chutney and tinctures from time-to-time, so let us know if you're interested in products we are making. ~ We are very easy to reach via the Airbnb app and also have full-time and on-site caretakers. We encourage you to reach out if you need anything. ~ Checkout our IG and tag us! @themangofarmlife

Neighborhood highlights

We are 1 mile from spectacular Kealakekua Bay, host to turquoise water with amazing visibility, beautiful coral reefs & exotic tropical marine life including spinner dolphins. The Bay offers world-class snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaking. Surfing is also available nearby at Ke'ei, and Kahaluu. Also nearby: Big Island Bees, Peleaku Peace Gardens, Painted Church, Puuhonua a Honaunau. There is a wonderful market 10 minutes away Choicemart, nearby farmers markets on Saturday and Sunday and a small local market that sells only locally produced food (Kainaliu Fresh) that's 15 minutes away. We have a binder in the rental with all of our favorite cafes, restaurants, beaches, activities and businesses. Nature based living! Think possible mosquitoes, geckos, wild chickens/roosters, coqui frogs, birds, bees, insects, mongoose.. We are viligant about routine pest management, but to enjoy this experience, you need to be at one with nature. We are a HOSTED rental, which is leagally required for Agvzoned rentals like ours.

Public transportation is not an option in this area. You'll definitely need to rent a car. Even though we are only 1 mile from Kealakekua Bay, it is down a windy road (400ft climb) without a shoulder, so not the ideal beach walk :-)
